Mindful Awareness and Nature Journaling
October 27, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

You’re invited to come out next Sunday at 10am and join us in the unhurried pace and full awareness of mindfulness on a walk in the preserve. If you’re new to it, we will talk about how to practice mindfulness. Time spent in nature benefits our mood, thinking, and health, according to many research studies.
The walk is designed for adults and older children (older than 10). While discussing and practicing mindfulness, we will walk to a couple of locations within the preserve.
We can then take a little time to reflect on what is around us and within us, writing or drawing in a nature journal. Doing this helps us organize our thoughts, adds to our self-understanding, and may benefit our mental wellness in other ways. Bring a notebook and pen and/or pencil!
The walk leader is Michael Smith, author of Mindfulness in Texas Nature, naturalist, and retired mental health professional. (This event is for nature appreciation and wellness and is not therapy)
