Events and Programs

The Friends of SCNP provide lots of events that might bring understanding, joy, and a sense of contribution. If you have a Facebook account, we recommend you follow us there and sign up as “going” when you see an event you plan to attend.

If you would like to see some of our past events, we generally include a summary of the previous month’s events in our newsletter. You can find issues at our newsletter page – and you can subscribe for free.

What Lives Here?

January 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Take a winter walk to find some of the living things at the preserve. We’ll focus largely on names for things, how the plants and animals work together ecologically, but some of the time we’ll focus on experiencing the preserve with mindful, in-the-moment awareness.
The walk is designed for anyone interested in nature, including beginners. It is for pre-teens on up through seniors but probably wouldn’t work for younger kids. Please do not bring dogs on this walk. Remember that the trails are primitive (but we go slow). Bring water! Check back here or on Facebook the day before – or morning of – the walk in case of difficult weather.
