Events and Programs
The Friends of SCNP provide lots of events that might bring understanding, joy, and a sense of contribution. If you have a Facebook account, we recommend you follow us there and sign up as “going” when you see an event you plan to attend.
If you would like to see some of our past events, we generally include a summary of the previous month’s events in our newsletter. You can find issues at our newsletter page – and you can subscribe for free.
Winter Tree ID Walk with Suzanne Tuttle
February 2, 2025 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Want to learn to identify a tree or shrub in winter when there are no leaves to help? Join us for this walk as we get to know woody plants of the Eastern Cross Timbers by their growth habits, bark, twigs, buds and leaf scars.
This always-popular event is provided by Suzanne Tuttle, plant ecologist and retired manager of Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Fort Worth Chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas.
Free, but pre-registration is limited to 20. Please register by emailing events@friendsofscnp.org
